Our 2019 race will kick off our new series "Tip of the Spear" series. Each year we will feature a different military vehicle in which the 13th MEU utilizes. This year is dedicated to the F-35 Lightning II. This is the first year this fighter jet was launched into service and the 13th MEU was the first to flight it.
In the years to follow, our finisher medals will deplict other vehicles such as: Osprey, Hmmwv, Cobra, Landing Craft Air Cushion(LCAC), Abrams Main Battle Tank, Assult Amphibious Vehicle Recovery (AAVR7) and others. Stay tune for details.
The Heroes Series includes two Orange County race events - the Centanni-Cottle Memorial 5K Run in Yorba Linda, and the Anaheim Semper 5K & 10K Run. Runners who complete any combination of the 5K or 10K run in both events within the same calendar year will receive a special Heroes Series medal. More bling!
Please join us on the roads of beautiful Yorba Linda, California as we come together to honor the service and sacrifice of our hometown heroes, United States Marines; Lance Corporal Rick Centanni and Sergeant Major Robert “RJ” Cottle.
The Centanni-Cottle Memorial 5K winds 3.5 miles through Rick and Robert’s hometown of Yorba Linda, California. The 5k route passes by all three schools Rick attended, ending at Esperanza High School.
Proceeds benefit the Rick Centanni Memorial Fund, Kaila Cottle Trust in memory of her father SgtMaj Robert J. Cottle, Semper Fi Fund, Wounded Warrior Project, The American Legion, Fisher House and one additional military based charity of the Executive Board’s choosing.
